Tonya L. Alton is a Canadian Historical fiction writer. Her career in writing began with the newspaper, The View in Lake Country. Tonya wrote editorials and articles over a four-year period. She has had poems published, magazine work and her poignant story, “Just Because,” featured in the Chicken Soup for the Soul, “All in the Family” edition.

In Under the Sitka Tree, the author weaves together a tapestry of vivid characters, which are captivated by a magical Sitka spruce tree. The gripping narrative entices the reader into a series of adventures, hardships, and mystery. The writer’s inspiration was the community of Ocean Falls, British Columbia. Additionally, the colossal Sitka spruce trees, the Three Sisters, located at Carmanah Walbran Provincial Park, British Columbia encouraged the unearthing of her story. Currently, the author is seeking an agent and publication for her novel. She writes under the pen name of T. L. Alton and has plans to write two other books, set in Canada. Tonya L. Alton resides in the Fraser Valley, not far from the seaside. Her love of the ocean connects her with the sandpipers that make the area their home. She is passionate about issues concerning mental health, homelessness, and woman’s rights. When not immersed in her writing, Tonya indulges in photography, hiking and cultural events. She shares a brilliant imagination, deep faith, and bond to those less fortunate. Tonya’s underlying message is that the foundation of possibilities is built on devotion, redemption, acceptance and keeping your dreams thriving!
